Top Québec City outdoor venues

Terrasse du Centre des congrès

If there is one thing the recent global pandemic has taught event planners—apart from resilience—it is creativity. As host destinations, such as Québec City, reopen to events, including in-person or hybrid conferences, conventions and business meetings, event organizers are tasked with finding unique and safe venues for attendees.

Here is our top outdoor venues in Québec City for your next business event.

Québec City Convention Centre

Located right in the heart of downtown Québec City where all the action is in the summertime, the Québec City Convention Centre is always a popular choice for event planners thanks to its 300,000 square feet of meeting space. The venue’s outdoor terrace overlooks Old Québec, and the adjacent outdoor event space is immersed in an unconventional—yet immersive—setting. The best part? The Centre’s exclusive food and beverage service can whip up a mouth-watering BBQ for event attendees that will leave them craving for more! This intimate space, which takes up 474 square feet, is sure to delight your attendees!

Fairmont Le Château Frontenac

What if you could host an event with an iconic, picture-perfect castle as a backdrop? The Fairmont Le Château Frontenac offers two outdoor spaces and world-class catering for any type of event. Terrasse Haldimand, located at the entrance of Dufferin Terrace and with breathtaking riverscapes of the St. Lawrence River, can host up to 150 guests thanks to nearly 11,000 square feet of space. Terrasse de la piscine showcases the hotel and Old Québec’s architecture in all of its glory. With 4,000 square feet, you can welcome 80 attendees in a more intimate setting. For both spaces, rental fees include social distancing markings and an on-site security guard.

Do you think event attendees feel the call of the water? Croisières AML has got you covered with the AML Louis Joliet. Three expansive terraces are just waiting to be discovered! Bridge B, which is 2,784 square feet, allows 250 people to enjoy the great outdoors on a floating terrace. Navigate the shores of Old Québec towards Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, with its stunning views of waterfalls, Île d'Orléans and the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. Finally, Bridge D is renowned for being the highest bridge on the AML Louis Jolliet, a versatile boat restaurant that is ideal for cocktails and other receptions. With 2,460 square feet of event space, 100 guests can soak up the views of Québec City and its South Shore.

ExpoCité Exhibition Centre

ExpoCité is synonymous with outdoor events. From product launches to off-site activities, this venue will definitely wow you with all the amenities that are offered. There are limitless possibilities for event planners to unleash their creativity! Inaugurated in 2018, the two spaces stand out for their location and design!

Musée de la civilisation

Located in the Québec City’s Old Port, a step away from the Petit-Champlain neighbourhood, the Musée de la civilisation is a museum for everyone, with its diversified cultural offer that encourages meetings and exchanges. In addition to the exhibitions, workshops and shows that are offered, this gathering place is perfect for holding business events. For outdoor events, it is possible to enjoy the inner courtyard or the terrace on the roofs of the building. The capacity of the rooftop terrace is up to 350 people. The perspective is unique: on one side, you will discover a view of the Château Frontenac and, on the other side, the St. Lawrence River. The courtyard can accommodate up to 200 people for a cocktail. It is located in the middle of the museum and the Guillaume-Estèbe House, a former urban residence built around 1752. The cachet of this heritage building will certainly give your event an authentic atmosphere!

With Québec City’s wide-open, green spaces, it is no wonder the city offers great outdoor venues for meeting and events.
