Québec’s Delta Hotels by Marriott, Mont Sainte-Anne, Resort and Convention Center undergoes major renovations
Delta Hotels by Marriott, Mont Sainte-Anne, Resort and Convention Center, located at the foot of Québec City’s iconic Mont-Saint-Anne ski resort and just 30 minutes from the Québec City Convention Centre, is set to unveil the outcome of its major renovation project that started several years ago.
Even before the renovation, the resort was a great venue for meeting planners looking to host events and conventions in an idyllic and outdoorsy setting. “When we acquired the resort several years ago, we wanted to revamp it to cater to modern-day guests,” explained Sébastien Roy, General Manager at Delta Hotels by Marriott, Mont Sainte-Anne, Resort and Convention Center.
Getting Marriott involved in the project
The resort’s management team built a plan in order to become part of a world-renowned hotel banner.
Marriott saw the tremendous potential for Château Mont-Saint-Anne. Our vision for the project was similar and we decided to become a four-star Delta by Marriott hotel—all while keeping ownership of the resort, Mr. Roy said.
The timing for the renovation was perfect as Marriott s revitalizing all Delta hotels across Canada in an effort to expand the brand. And the $20 million project began.
A redesigned hotel
The Delta Hotels by Marriott, Mont Sainte-Anne, Resort and Convention Center team worked with local architects to redesign the over 200 rooms, conference space, restaurant, lobby, bar and basically all other public spaces. “We wanted to give the resort a more sleek, Nordic look,” said Mr. Roy. “We wanted to pay tribute to the ski hills that grace our resort’s views and carve our guest experience.”
For meeting planners, Delta Hotels by Marriott, Mont Sainte-Anne, Resort and Convention Center features 21 meeting rooms spread over 42,229 square feet. They can be configured in a myriad of ways to accommodate small or large events. The resort can also create tailored packages for event attendees to combine social and sports activities with official conference programming.
Between the hotel itself and its convention centre, an aquatics complex is currently being built with a brand-new indoor pool, whirlpools, gym, outdoor Nordic spa, saunas and spa treatment rooms. The aquatics complex will be reserved for guests and connect to the hotel and convention centre via an indoor passageway. While the aquatics complex will open by the end of 2022, the outdoor pool, which was also renovated, will open in June 2021.
A high-tech resort
Delta Hotels by Marriott, Mont Sainte-Anne, Resort and Convention Center features the latest cutting-edge technologies that Marriott has been working on. In fact, the resort will be the first in Canada to have mobile dining, mobile check-in, mobile keys, etc.
Everything is connected from the time guests arrive until they leave, added Mr. Roy. We will have a total guest experience unlike any other hotel in the area.
As part of the Delta by Marriott banner, Delta Hotels by Marriott, Mont Sainte-Anne, Resort and Convention Center also uses sophisticated disinfection systems for each room. “Our health and safety measures are very high, and these new systems raise the bar even higher.”
Vision for the future
Being part of the Marriott family, Delta Hotels by Marriott, Mont Sainte-Anne, Resort and Convention Center is hoping to broaden its reach to welcome guests from elsewhere in Canada and the US—particularly those who travel with their Marriott points. In addition, the resort’s team will focus its efforts on attracting more conventions and conferences.
We want to draw new business to the Mont-Saint-Anne region, which will positively impact the local community and economy, Mr. Roy concluded. Our transformation will help Mont-Saint-Anne thrive for years to come.
