Event industry partners give back to their community
While Québec City’s tourism and event sector has been greatly affected by the recent pandemic, partners in the industry have doubled up efforts to give back to the local community. Some have cooked meals to donate to food banks. Others have welcomed recovering patients in their establishments. Québec City Business Destination is proud to have such dedicated partners and thank them for their generous contribution in these unprecedented times.
La Bouchée généreuse, which is a Québec City food bank, was relocated to the Centre de foires (exhibition centre) in order to meet ever-increasing demand and respect physical-distancing measures.
Hôtel Le Concorde transformed three of its floors into a recovery centre for people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 but cannot self-isolate at home.
The culinary brigade at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac prepared a high number of meals to donate to Food Banks of Québec.
The Québec City Convention Centre donated 1,700 masks and nearly 500 kg of food to a regional organization. The Convention Centre also lent its spaces to 3 Québec charities.
To contribute to Food Banks of Québec, three chefs from Hôtels Jaro, along with a group of hotel directors and owners, used their culinary talents to prepare 10,000 servings of vegetarian chili for Les Cuisines Solidaires.
